Democrats think it’s open season on Donald Trump.

They are loaded for bear to utilize any means necessary to impeach the President.

But one Democrat took it too far and just broke the law with this attack on Trump’s children.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is the media darling coming out of the 2018 midterms.

The 29-year-old former bartender and self-identified Democrat socialist shocked the political world when she trounced the fourth-ranking Democrat in the House in the primary election.

Fake news reporters ticketed her for stardom based on her youth, anti-American beliefs, and fluency in racial and gender grievance politics.

Ocasio-Cortez is treated like the Donald Trump of the left on social media.

Liberal activists and fake news reporters hang onto her every tweet and Instagram post.

But her prolific social media presence just landed her on the hot seat because of one illegal threat.

It all started when Donald Trump, Jr. mocked Ocasio-Cortez and other socialists by pointing out that Venezuela’s socialist economy  – which is their vision for America – has destroyed the country to the point where their citizens have been forced to eat dogs because they can’t afford real food.

That burn triggered Ocasio-Cortez.

She flew off the handle on social media and began hysterically threatening Trump, Jr. with the unlimited investigative power of the federal government.

Ocasio-Cortez tweeted:

“I have noticed that Junior here has a habit of posting nonsense about me whenever the Mueller investigation heats up.

Please, keep it coming Jr – it’s definitely a “very, very large brain” idea to troll a member of a body that will have subpoena power in a month.

Have fun!”

This tweet was a perfect example of why less is more.

Had Ocasio-Cortez left well enough alone, it would have blown over in a single social media cycle.

Instead, she thought every attack needed to be answered.

Ocasio-Cortez got way out of her lane.

And the blowback was swift and severe.

Americans were appalled that a public official would threaten a private citizen with a federal investigation and possible jail time because they were offended by a meme on social media.

The Federalist’s Sean Davis pointed out that her threat to Trump, Jr. ran afoul of Congressional ethics rules.

She later tried to walk back her outrageous attempts to impose banana republic authoritarianism in America.

Ocasio-Cortez wrote:

For the GOP crying that this is a “threat” – I don’t have power to subpoena anybody.

Congress as a body, GOP included, has the power. No indiv. member can issue a subpoena unless they are a Chair (which, as a freshman, I can assure you I will not be). Also must be under purview.

Ocasio-Cortez’s threat to unleash the fearsome power of the federal government on her political opponents was a reminder of something Friedrich Hayek wrote in ‘The Road to Serfdom’.

He noted that in socialist governments, the cruelest thugs rose to power.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s threatening tweet to Donald Trump, Jr. lives up to that scary warning.
