PAUL RYAN'S STUJNING BETRAYAL

You would think that the GOP would stand behind the president, especially since it was he and his policies that the nation elected. However, it turns out that some Republicans are more than willing to trample on Trump’s policies.

Paul Ryan recently made a startling admission regarding Trump’s new DACA proposal to Congress. “I think people should rest easy, and I think the president made the right call and the president also gave us the time and space we’re going to need to find where that compromise is,” said Ryan, according to the New York Post.

When Ryan is telling people to “rest easy,” he isn’t referring to Americans that are concerned about illegal immigration. He was speaking to the 800,000 illegal immigrant “dreamers” instead, promising that they won’t need to worry — because the GOP will come up with a plan for them.

The speaker then had the temerity to say that, “We will not be advancing legislation that doesn’t have the support of President Trump because we are going to work with the president on how to do this legislation.”

Trump didn’t want a compromise on DACA, and neither did millions of Americans. The suggestion that Trump would support a program that’s completely at odds with his policies is totally absurd.

“This is a home that people know and they don’t know any other country as a home. I think there’s a serious human issue here that needs to be dealt with, but it’s only fitting and reasonable that we also deal with some of the root causes of the problem because what we don’t want to have happen is another DACA problem ten years from now,” Ryan said.

I’m sure many Americans are sympathetic to the plight of these children, but the blame here should be solely placed on Barack Obama, who first started the program in 2012. The program has become so detrimental, that attorney generals from over ten states have threatened to sue Trump if he doesn’t stop DACA once and for all. Why isn’t Paul Ryan talking about that?

Why are GOP members siding with illegal immigrants over the millions of American citizens who take issue with DACA? Why are the interests of our own citizenry being cast aside by those we elected to look after them?

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is already on the move, and is proposing a bill to protect these 800,000 young illegal immigrants. If he’s not immediately successful, Schumer could attach his bill to a piece of must-pass legislation. It’s a vicious, anti-American scheme to undermine this nation even further.

The DACA issue is just one of many that congressional Republicans seem lackadaisical about. Do you think congressional Republicans are dragging their feet on implementing the Trump agenda?

“If a clean Dream Act does not come to the floor in September, we are prepared to attach it to other items this fall until it passes,” said Schumer at a news conference. “If this order stands, hundreds of thousands of families will be ripped apart, tens of thousands of American businesses will lose hard-working employees.”

The fact that Ryan is drawing sympathy from Democrats like Schumer is a concern. Just one day after Trump’s White House announced an end to the Obama-era policy, Ryan was already pandering to the left — despite the fact that the GOP already holds a majority in the House and Senate.

This needs to stop, and Ryan needs to start respecting the president’s wishes, as well as those of the American people.
