A major threat to wildlife is here...
Defenders of Wild Life / Robert Dewey
As soon as tomorrow, legislation that would seriously harm our nation’s endangered species is expected to come to the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
Tell your Representative to vote against H.R. 4315, TODAY!
Rep. Doc Hastings, chair of the House Natural Resources Committee, is determined to pass H.R. 4315. This legislation bundles together what were originally four separate bills each of which would place our nation’s endangered species even more at risk. Among other things, the H.R. 4315 package would allow politicians to determine what is the best available science on important issues – not scientists themselves. It would also force wildlife agencies to publicize the denning sites of imperiled species online – which could easily facilitate poaching.
For years, Rep. Doc Hastings has attacked the Endangered Species Act (ESA) in an attempt to weaken it at the expense of the hundreds of animals who rely on it for protection.
Though Hastings presents his bill as pro-wildlife, it offers no benefit to endangered species, and in fact could cause irreparable damage to those that rely on the ESA for life-saving protections.
Thank you for all you do.
Sincerely,
