This is CRITICAL. My friend Gary LeBlanc says the situation in North Carolina is actually worsening for many.

Gary's team is opening a new Mercy Chefs emergency meal site TODAY in Elizabethtown -- the community that received the most rain from this hurricane (nearly 36 inches). Today through this weekend, Gary's team will serve upwards of 21,000 hot meals to victims and volunteers.

I'm asking the Grassfire team to step forward and help fund ONE ENTIRE DAY of meals this weekend -- about 7,000 meals. It costs $25 to sponsor 10 meals; $50 to sponsor 20 meals. Can you help? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift directly to Mercy Chefs, and see below for Gary's udpate from Elizabethtown.

Thanks!

Steve Elliott, Grassfire

P.S. My family is sponsoring 40 meals for North Carolina hurricane victims. Please do what you can to help meet this urgent need. Go here and God bless!

Friday A.M. (from Elizabethtown, NC)

Steve,

The crisis in North Carolina is only worsening for many here...

TODAY I am in Elizabethtown opening a new Mercy Chefs emergency meal site. This community received the most rainfall from this hurricane (nearly 36 inches!) and has been devastated by the storm and the flooding. We are partnering with Vertical Church, whose campus in Lumberton is still under water!

With this new site in Elizabethtown -- in addition to the 5,000+ meals we are serving daily in Wilmington -- Mercy Chefs will provide upwards of 21,000 meals today through this weekend.

I need your help TODAY if possible. We are seeing God move in amazing ways through your generosity. Right now, I'm asking our core friends like you to step forward in a big way to meet this almost overwhelming need.

Will you prayerfully consider how you can help Mercy Chefs meet this enormous need of 21,000 hot meals THIS WEEKEND in hurricane-ravaged North Carolina? Go here to make your tax-deductible gift to help us serve these meals and continue other vital relief efforts:

+ + The need is increasing!

Our teams on the ground here expect the need to actually INCREASE in the coming 24-48 hours now that more people are returning to their homes and power outages are still widespread.

Again, we are seeing the Lord do amazing things in the midst of this tragedy. Your faithfulness is bearing fruit right now in the lives of so many who have been ravaged by this storm. But there is more work to do -- 21,000 meals THIS WEEKEND!

Please go here to help. And thanks for your prayers on behalf of all who have been impacted by this storm.

Blessings,

Gary

P.S. The scope of the flooding and the scope of the devastation is hard to even put into words. Yet it's amazing what a hot meal can do to someone who is returning to their home for the first time. Somehow, that meal -- made possible by friends like you -- becomes a lifeline of HOPE! Will you help me extend thousands of hope lifelines this weekend as we offer chef-prepared meals, served in love?  It costs about $25 to help provide 10 meals. Perhaps the Lord has blessed you and you can help sponsor 20 meals ($50), 40 meals ($100) or even 400 meals ($1,000). Click here now to help with your best tax-deductible gift:
