I just caught up with Gary LeBlanc of Mercy Chefs. As many of you know, Gary and his team is on the ground and feeding those left devasted by the destructive path of Isaac.

Yesterday, Gary relocated two of his Mercy Chefs units to one of the hardest hit regions -- La Place. This area has been particularly ravaged by Isaac. In fact, we have learned that many people who were hit hard by Katrina moved to La Place because it was spared during that storm.

Now, these families are facing a second overwhelming natural disaster.

The national media has long since disbursed for the most part, but the reality of what we are seeing here on the ground is heart-wrenching.

One of our volunteers was escorted to one of the hardest hit sections of La Place and what he saw says more than words can express. Days after the hurricane left, homes and streets are still under water...

As families begin to return, Mercy Chefs has been asked to provide as many as 5,000 meals each day in La Place begining today and at least through this weekend -- in addition to about 2,000 at another location.

That means the next 24-72 hours will be the greatest time of need for Mercy Chefs, and I want to do all I can to help get Gary's message out to our team.

Doors have miraculously opened for Mercy Chefs to provide practical relief in what is perhaps the hardest hit region, and I'm asking members of our team to consider helping Gary meet this overwhelming need.

Gifts of as little as $10 can provide a family of 4

a hot, nourishing meal -- not just a cold bag lunch. Contributions of $20 help feed 8 people, $50 feeds about 20 people, and $100 feeds 40 people.

I'm asking that you prayerfully consider giving your best gift right now to help Gary and his team during this incredible window of need!

Will you help Mercy Chefs provide as many as 20,000 meals in the coming days to families whose lives have been turned upside down by Hurricane Isaac?
