There is a lot of excitement going on. Eyewitnesses and video is coming in of a spectacular asteroid turned fireball over Edmonton, Alberta (Canada). It has been reported this atmosphere entering asteroid was the approximate size of a small house.

Below are some eyewitness reports:

Rowyn Windsor - Cold Lake Alta

"It was a really big flash, lit up the sky, and there was this huge, flaming fireball falling from the sky."

Sabrina Schneider - Lloydminster Saskatchewan-Alberta border

"This huge light in our kitchen window lit up our whole kitchen. It kinda flashed a couple of times. It was really bright. It was a different light than lightning. We weren't really sure what happened -- got up to look out the window, and all of a sudden, we heard this rumbling."

Torey Van Vam - Redcliff, Alta

"As it got closer to the ground, it was more visible as a ball of white light with green around it. And as it got really close to the ground, it turned kind of orange, and I'm pretty sure it went straight to the ground."

Bev Ully - Unity, Saskatchewan

"It was just like there were headlights right outside the window and that something was moving. It wasn't just one big, bright flash. It was several flashes."

Kim Wingrove - Edmonton

"I saw this large orb shoot across in an east-southeast direction, on a very steady trajectory. It was very, very big. And I've seen a lot of shooting stars from all the world as I travelled, but I've never seen one so large. It was very bright yellow, with hints of green in it. It stayed in the air -- for about two to two and a half seconds."

Bruce McCurdy (amateur astronomer)

"Just sitting here in my living room minding my own business at 17:27 MST when a bright flash caught my eye out the picture window. I looked up and saw a second, probably brighter flash just above the eastern horizon, probably 100 degrees azimuth, only 5-10 degrees above the horizon at that point and dropping. It was an intense orange color reminiscent of flickering firelight, but in my split second judgment possibly brighter than the Full Moon, certainly in that range. There are lots of reflections in my picture window, and by the time I finished going "holy $#!+" and stepped outside there was no evidence of any sort of persistent train. In a word: WOW!!!"
