Limiting the church?

Now is the time for each of us to look in the mirror and ask what God wants from us today. Are we reflecting His love and grace to the people around us as they face devastating challenges? Have state and local governments crossed the line by telling churches how to worship (online or parking lot or only 10 people)? Do they have authority to pick winners and losers, essential vs non-essential, abortion but not heart surgery, liquor stores but not church, or this business but not that business?

There is a lot of talk about making vaccinations mandatory, tracking human movements, and spying on American citizens. People were fired from their job for going to church in our Kentucky case. Others were arrested in our Florida case. Many are being confined to what U.S. Attorney General Bill Barr says looks like "house arrest" - without a trial.

My staff is currently working in more than 30 states to fight policies that destroy our freedom. Stay-at-home orders are affecting 45 states and 95% of Americans nationwide. In California all public protest permits are now being denied. Michigan's Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) made good on her threat against protestors and extended her state's stay-at-home order through May 15. Virginia's stay at home order extends to June 10!

Governors are trampling our constitutional rights, destroying the economy, and denying people critical medical treatment and surgery.

The longer freedom-loving patriots tolerate tyranny, the more the government and the Bill Gates crowd (Dr. Fauci included) will steal more freedom. We do not need forced vaccinations and surveillance to get back to "normal," though these same people warn us not to expect "normal" again. We must dust off our Bill of Rights and demand that our leaders return authority to "We the People.

It is up to you and me to demand our governors end the lockdown. Now is the time to begin the gradual process of opening the church doors to minister to hurting individuals, free our business owners to make their own decisions, and give individuals the freedom that our Founding Fathers died to maintain. It's time to demand freedom.

This acceptance of a "temporary suspension" of our constitutional freedoms completely ignores our own history. When our Founding Fathers ratified the Bill of Rights, they had just finished a 7-year smallpox epidemic in America (1775-1782).

George Washington wrote that smallpox was a greater threat to the Continental Army than even "the Sword of the Enemy." The epidemic was so bad that in March of 1776 George Washington created a special 1,000-person troop of those recovered from smallpox to fight the British lockdown in Boston, where the disease had a stronghold.

Though having just experienced their own epidemic, our Founding Fathers still did not hedge our freedoms when they chose to protect them in the Bill of Rights. They did not give complete control to the government for the next epidemic. Our Founding Fathers understood firsthand that freedom is more important—no exceptions. They created our Bill of Rights with no emergency clauses or pause buttons.

Everyone agrees that sick people should be quarantined. Even George Washington did that. But now we are seeing our government quarantining healthy people indefinitely, and even jailing healthy people if they leave their homes for a location that is equally safe or safer but is not "approved" by the government.

Politicians have lost their minds ... and you and I have lost our freedoms.

Rise up with me to say enough is enough! Our Founding Fathers created the Bill of Rights on the heels of one epidemic, let us not quietly abandon those same rights on the heels of another one. Fax these governors today to end the tyranny.

Thanks to your work, I'm excited to share that President Trump just signed a bill to refill the Paycheck Protection Plan. Estimates are that this will give a short reprieve for businesses on the rocks today. But the government cannot print enough money to make this a long-term solution.

Liberty Counsel Action has been on the front lines in D.C. We are working with staff inside and outside the D.C. Beltway to get information to hold banks accountable to the intent of this law. And we are working to ensure that these funds go directly to the small business owners and organizations who need it most.

Together we can restore the freedoms Founding Fathers fought and died for so that we can pass them on to our children and grandchildren.

Gratefully,

P.S. We have got to stop killing our economy. We need to act NOW to stop our legislators and governors from further damaging our economy. Send a fax to our legislators right now.

And sign our petition to President Trump to urge him to continue taking action to get America back to work.

Please rush a donation to strengthen our team's ability to fight this in D.C. and across America. We deeply appreciate your support.
