The U.S. legislature is haggling and scrambling to avoid another government shutdown by Thursday. We are pushing a continuing resolution (CR) that is still in Congress. And I’ll tell you why below. This CR just passed the House a few minutes ago. It must pass the Senate next and be signed by President Trump in the next 48 hours. I hope you will send an urgent fax to protect our hard-earned tax dollars before it’s too late. -Mat

It’s a busy week. My legal team is working to appeal Sandra Merritt’s case, while our staff in D.C. is working under a 48-hour deadline to stop extra money from going to Planned Parenthood.

It is very important to pass this continuing resolution. If it doesn’t pass, the only two remaining options for the Senate are either a government shutdown or a radical budget bill with millions of dollars in increased funding of our tax dollars going to abortion providers around the world.

During the March for Life last year, President Trump announced he would refuse to sign any legislation that would send more tax dollars to abortion clinics. But right now, the Senate needs to stand alongside this promise from our President.

Radicals in the House filled the budget bill full of poison pills, pet projects, and spending on damaging efforts. I hope you will send an urgent fax right now to encourage the Senate leadership to stand strong and protect our tax dollars from going to Planned Parenthood and international abortion providers.

In addition to millions of additional tax dollars for abortion, the new budget would include many indirect ways to send significantly more of our tax dollars to abortions:

A Global HER Act which allows tax dollars to be used to advertise abortions internationally
The “HIV/AIDS Working Capital Fund” to fund abortifacients and abortions
Elevating abortion and LGBT behaviors to a “human right” and demanding the State Department monitor and report on any "violations"

I encourage you to send an urgent fax to Senate right now as this deadline quickly approaches. Ask them to stand strong against using your tax dollars for abortion!
