What is liberty worth to you?

There is a marked contrast between those who founded our nation and many of our current leaders. At the birth of America, statesmen risked everything for this ideal of freedom. Fast-forward 244 years, and many governors more closely resemble the tyranny we escaped than the freedom we found.

Many blue-state governors can't stop dreaming about getting their hands on more of YOUR money to spend covering for their years of out-of-control spending and foolish and ineffective lockdowns.

Much like Old King George, many governors want to pile these costs on the backs of American business owners and taxpayers already staggering under the weight of a damaged economy and additional "phases" that prevent profits.

Now is our moment to rise. We need a flood of voices in Congress to demand that our legislators block the plans to use your federal tax-dollars to pay for the poor management decisions these radical governors made. Send your fax today to command that Congress spend "not a penny more" rewarding these lockdown governors. - Mat

Patrick,

Our nation was founded by people sacrificing everything to fight for the rights and freedoms given to us by God. As we are heading into the weekend celebrating America, I want to take a moment to honor the incredible personal sacrifice of those who have gone before us.

  • Robert Morris regularly bought militia supplies with his own money to win an American victory at Yorktown. He purchased a thousand barrels of flour to feed soldiers the winter of 1778, spending more than 1 million dollars personally (nearly 30 million dollars today). He died in relative poverty.
  • George Clymer converted his entire fortune into continental currency to help stabilize the dollar, even though it would likely be rendered worthless. His home was destroyed when loyalists pointed it out to British troops.
  • George Walton signed the Declaration, then served as a colonel. In Savannah, a cannonball broke his leg and he was captured for nine months. His wife was also captured and imprisoned in the West Indies. The British completely ransacked their home.
  • Carter Braxton permanently "loaned" the Continental Congress 10,000 pounds of sterling. In addition, he remodeled ships to carry more cargo. Many were captured by the British. By the end of the war, he was completely bankrupt.
  • John Hart had a 400-acre farm that was plundered by mercenaries. While he was fleeing from the British, his wife died, and his kids had to be cared for by neighbors.
  • Francis Lewis saw the British destroy his Long Island estate and put his wife in prison. She was tortured on a regular basis on the hope that that would make him recant his signature. Two years later, she was finally released in a prisoner exchange.

When these patriots made the solemn "pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor," they meant it. And they kept their word.

Today, I want to challenge you. The future of our nation is hanging in the balance. I urge you to consider what you will pledge to save America and the freedoms our Founders sacrificed everything to create? This is a moment to reflect on what we are leaving to future generations and how we can invest today to shape our legacy.

I want to offer you one option to act. Urge Congress to rein in these tyrant governors. They must close the federal purse strings to radical, emergency-order dictators. Anything less would be mean Congress enabling, even rewarding, these wanna-be tyrants. Send your fax to Congress today.

But I also encourage you to join me this holiday praying and seeking the Lord's face for what role he wants you to have in America's future.

Much of our culture has forgotten the depths of our Founding Fathers' sacrifice. Their statues are being torn down and our values are under attack under a guise of deception. Our nation's past, and future, is under attack.

And just like during the founding of our nation, America needs leaders to rise up with humility to lead our community and sacrifice for our nation. Will you pray about become your community's next leader?

Our nation is facing a choice. Will we seek liberty or the illusion of safety? As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day this weekend, join me in remembering the incredible sacrifice of our Founding Fathers as they fought for freedom. And join me in fighting for freedom today to stop extremist governors from becoming America's first dictators.

I encourage you to send a fax to Congress to make these radical governors pay the piper rather than taking your hard-earned tax dollars to prop up their far-left, failed policies.

My hope is to stir up men and women across America. We want to educate and activate people just like you to become the next leaders who will fight to restore our nation and preserve our future. If you share our vision, partner with us today.

For any donation to LCA over $30, we are offering an inspirational, frameable image of Patrick Henry and his famous words, and a copy of Patriot’s Handbook of American Liberty. This will remind you of the gripping sacrifice of those who have led America in the past and embolden you to act in what God is calling you toward today.

We are resolved that we will not abandon this brave vision for a better future of America as a land where life is protected, liberty is respected, and happiness is not guaranteed but the freedom to pursue it is. I am grateful to stand with you as America stands at this crossroad.

For Liberty,

Mat Staver

P.S. I can't help but see the contrast between our Founding Fathers who gave all and our radical governors, who want to take everything away.  America is at a gigantic crossroad and you can invest in the future of our nation by faxing Congress to stop these radical "shutdown" governors.

Even if you can't fax today, if you learned something new, please forward our email to your friends and family or share it on social media.

Then sign Liberty Counsel Action's petition today to bolster our efforts to educate our senators on the dangers of this legislation.
