ACTION ALERT- A VACCINE BILL WE CAN SUPPORT IN NY HAS BEEN INTRODUCED- CALL YOUR REPS AND GET THEM ON BOARD!
Bill S2955/A3912, the ‘Data Collection’ bill, compels schools to report the amount of religious waiver applications submitted, denied and approved. With this information, we can prove the law is unfair all over NY. Then our lawmakers can fix it.

Call/ email your lawmakers:
"Please support Bill S2955/ A3912. This bill would require school districts to report to the state the amount of religious waiver to immunization applications they receive along with the denials and approvals. The data collected from this bill will show how unfair the law is in NY. The religious exemption laws need to be the same across the state and respect first amendment freedoms. I ask you to support it with your co-sponsorship. ”

Some districts require parents to ‘prove’ their religious views in draconian interrogations. Others wisely stay out of the religious judgment business. This info will show which schools rule as the Grand Inquisitor and which follow NYS law (and common sense).
This bill is the start of a new, data-driven conversation about standardizing exemptions. Stats are a solid argument for change. We have to fight back against all the bad bills with a solution we can support.
Call & email your reps in Albany AND the district and ask they support S2955/ A3912 with co-sponsorship. The bill is simple. We are not challenging views on vaccines- just gathering important info we can use towards a solution. If they decline, ask for their reasons for opposition. Call back if you don't get a response.
