"FDA Revitalization Bill!"

Ralph Fucetola, our Trustee, and Charles Frohman, our Legislative Consultant, took your message to Congress and told them that you, as a Natural Solutions Foundation supporter, demanded that access to dietary supplements be exempt from the provisions of the bad Senate version of the "FDA Revitalization Act, S. 1082, and the even worse House version of it, HR 2900.

They presented your Liberty Coalition letter (http://www.libertycoalition.net/protect-health-freedom#attachments)with over 100 organizations signing on to say "Protect my Health Freedoms and reign in the out-of-control FDA!". They presented a powerful new Natural Solutions Foundation Congressional Briefing called "Congressional Choice: Health Freedom or Health Tyranny" (http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/healthfreedomusa/content.jsp?content_KEY=3061), they presented your arguments for protecting our health by separating the food and drug regulation and for protecting US sovereignty and food security by reigning in our mad dash to "HARMonize" with Codex for the sake of the multinational agenda.

While We Were In Washington This Week....

Ralph and Charlie visited with senior legislative staff (more than 100 of them) and had a chance to present your information to them. Then they visited the offices of powerful decision makers giving them access to the same information and letting them know that the Natural Solutions Foundation supporters were alert and actively watching what they did. We were able to generate new co-sponsors for Ron Paul's bill which protects many of your health freedoms, The Health Freedom Protection Act, HR 2117 (http://www.democracyinaction.org/dia/organizationsORG/healthfreedomusa/campaign.jsp?campaign_KEY=11754).

They also reminded the folks in Congress that the FDA is on a rampage against natural health and that its latest Guidance would, according to that agency itself, put large numbers of small and medium sized supplement companies out of business while leaving the big, Big Pharma-owned and backed, firms in place.

And the Good News is....

And the good news is that everywhere we went, the power and activism of the Natural Solutions Foundation's voice, YOUR voice, hundreds of thousands strong, meant that highly placed Congressional staffers and other thanked us for our activism, were clearly aware of our numbers and our input (CLEARLY aware) and thanked us for our input. They also invited us back to discuss our issues and asked for additional information.

Action Steps

A. Call the Congressional Switchboard, 202-224-3121, and ask to speak to your Representative or Senator. The operator will ask for your zip code and then connect you to the right office. You will probably have to call back to speak to both your Senators and your Representative. When you reach their staff (you will not be connected with the Member), let the staffer know that you strongly urge your Member of Congress to:

1. Become a co sponsor of the Health Freedom Protection Act, HR 2117 (tell this to your your Representative) or introduce sister legislation which matches HR 2117 (tell this to your Senator)

2. Hold Congressional Hearings at the earliest possible date on the corruption and Pharma-Friendly abuse of power by the FDA which is knowingly allowing deadly drugs to kill hundreds of thousands of Americans each year while wantonly attacking their safe, effective and inexpensive competitors, namely clean food and effective dietary supplements, forcing small companies out of the wellness industry and corrupting both the medicinal and food supplies of this country to the detriment of the safety of all Americans.

3. Help reduce health care spending and increase health status for Americans by supporting natural medicine options as first options under mandated Federal Programs like Medicare for seniors, children, the poor and other vulnerable groups who are the most vulnerable to drug-caused death and damage.

B.Visit Your Congressmen and women in their local offices. It's August, Congress is in session and your Congressional Members are at home. They all have local offices and it is their responsiblity to be available to you. It is your responsibility to tell them what you want and what is important to you.

Use them to make your points. with your Congress people. Go in with a bullet point one pager and stick to your points. Take lots of people with you and let your Congress person know you are watching their performance on the Health Freedom issue!

C. Spread the word. Everyone on your email list is a potential health freedom advocate. Let them know that this is important to you and ask them to make it an issue they take action on, too! As individuals they can sign on to the Health Freedom Action Alert list (secure) at www.HealthFreedomUSA.org or www.GlobalHealthFreedom.org.

As decision makers for groups they can still sign on to the Liberty Coalition letter by emailing Michael Ostrolenk at michaeldostrolenk@gmail.com and giving the name of their organization, their name and position with the group and the URL of the group, company, department, club, foundation or what ever with a statement like "Please sign the xxxx (your group's name) on to the Natural Solutions Foundation's Health Freedom letter".

SPECIAL EXEMPTION FOR IRA ROLLOVER GIFTS ENDS THIS YEAR

Under the Pension Protection Act of 2006, any individual 701/2 or older can make direct transfers from an individual retirement account (IRA) to qualifying non-profits, such as the Natural Solutions Foundation, of up to $100,000.

But, unless extended by Congress, this special exemption will expire at the end of 2007. The transfer must be postmarked or delivered to the Natural Solutions Foundation no later than December 31, 2007.

Distributions can be made only from traditional IRA's or Roth IRA's. Donations from 403(b) plans, 401(k) plans, pension plans or other retirement plans are ineligible for the tax-free treatment.

Distributions should be made directly by your IRA trustee payable to the Natural Solutions Foundation. A distribution to a charitable remainder trust or gift annuity would not be qualified, nor would a distribution to a donor-advised fund.

There are additional tax benefits. Because the transfer is not included in the IRA ownern's income, nor reported on the taxpayer's income tax return, it does not count against the taxpayer's charitable deduction adjusted gross income (AGI) percentage limitations.

Consult your financial adviser to determine if an IRA rollover contribution to the Natural Solutions Foundation would be advantageous.
