Towers every 250 feet-Bill to remove local control soon-Conf Call Tonite
The US Senate is moving quickly to put small cell towers up every 250 feet throughout residential areas the country. Over 50 bills have been on Congress for months to facilitate this. The main bill to remove all local and state control over this is starting to be deliberated now and will be decided soon in DC. Below are details of a conference call tonight to oppose this.

This Sunday evening, the Environmental Grassroots Education team will host a conference call that may prove pivotal in our efforts to slow or halt 5g. Please make EVERY EFFORT TO BE IN ON THIS CALL.
Industry and government are plowing ahead with hearing after hearing, and bill after bill to fast track 5g, the IoT and unbridled wireless expansion.
ANY “downsides” are being thoroughly and deliberately ignored by lawmakers, and our voices are being categorically disregarded. Just about all our policy makers are buying into the “Race to 5g” hook line and sinker!!
Doug Wood, Patti, and the Grassroots Environmental Education team, have organized a conference call scheduled for this Sunday evening, July 29th, at 9:00 pm EST (6:00 Pacific time) to discuss ideas and strategies for moving forward in an “unyielding and committed effort” to better inform and influence our policy makers. I urge any and everyone who cares about health, privacy, cyber security, sanity, and our environment to make every effort to be in on the call. We must grow our voice, and become a unified and cohesive movement so we can effectively stop the unbridled “Race to 5G”.
5g/IoT may spell nothing short of the end of life as we know it. We need to step up NOW.

Grassroots is a science-based non-profit organization based in Port Washington, just outside of New York City on Long Island. Founded in 2000, we are the creators of the BabySafe Project (in cooperation with Environmental Health Trust) and have been working on the 5G issue for a while now. In 2016, our Executive Director, my wife Patti Wood, was awarded the Children’s Environmental Health Excellence Award from the EPA (the old EPA, before Trump). She is a visiting scholar at Adelphi University lecturing on community and environmental health in the School of Nursing. Patti worked with the NYS United Teachers to develop Guidelines for the Safe Use of Technology in Schools, and is the author of Helping to Heal, a book for parents of children with life-threatening illness.
I am the logistics and strategy part of Grassroots, with a background in professional communications including video and audio production. In our other life, we run a successful music production company supplying music for film and television to thousands of clients around the world. Almost twenty years ago I was elected to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) where I now serve as the head of legal strategy and strategic planning.
Patti and I have a radio show in WBAI in New York ("Green Street Radio") where for the past ten years we have been fortunate to interview some of the brightest minds in the environmental health world. It’s where we originally met Devra Davis, Magda Havas, Martha Herbert, Martin Blank, Joel Moskowitz, Lennart Hardell and other luminaries of the wireless issue.

We are at a moment in time.
Legislation is being introduced in Washington that could eliminate all local control over the placement of 5G transmitters on utility poles in neighborhoods across America.
Well-meaning but uninformed legislators are championing the rapid deployment of a vast and dense network of transmitters, heralding a new "smart" world of things and cars, video streaming and virtual reality, oblivious to the serious risks to human health, safety and security posed by this new technology.
Once again, technology has outpaced the scientific process, and commerce is racing ahead to implement 5G technology despite warnings from independent scientists that wireless radiation has measurable biological impacts, and that a so-called smart world only makes us more vulnerable to cyber crime.
It is imperative that we act now, in an unyielding and committed effort to alert legislators and the public to what we know. Will you join us?

"New Networks Institute (NNI) & the IRREGULATORS just helped to get 32,000 fiber optic lines installed by Verizon New York in underserved areas as well as have the state utility be required to do long needed repairs of the copper networks — that are still in use. The State claims that there are still 2.14 million ‘voice-only’ access lines in service. (Note: This number of copper-based access lines is low for multiple reasons.)
We estimate that this settlement is valued at $300 million to $1/2 billion in additional spending by Verizon in New York State over time.
In state after state, Verizon decided to simply use the state utilities as a cash cow to fund its other lines of business and let the copper networks deteriorate — and charge customers billions for upgraded fiber networks they never got. And while Verizon started to do ‘FiOS’ fiber-to-the-home, by 2010, the company moved the construction budgets to build out their wireless service. All of these cross-subsidies created massive artificial losses, resulting in more rate increases and an excuse to ‘shut off the copper’.
As described by long time telecom writer Karl Bode about the settlement:
“Verizon Forced to Repair Broadband Infrastructure It Has Literally Let Fall Apart. A new settlement requires Verizon to replace bad cable, defective equipment, and faulty back-up batteries — and to take down 64,000 double telephone poles or pole stumps.”
Our research and calls for an investigation started in 2010, and our reports, filings and analytical approach helped to initiate and was used in the investigation. We are mentioned in the decision (see below) and will be taking next steps on this as we filed to block this settlement agreement; it left out billions in cross-subsidies and customer overcharging."

The stalemate over gun control “triggered” this man to offer free Facial Recognition Technology to schools as a solution to school shootings.
More and more, “techno-solutions” are finding their way into our world promising “solutions" that end up harming more than helping. (Think exposure to EMFs, privacy violations, cyber security risks, e-waste, energy consumption, conflict minerals and so on.)

Blackouts could have been caused after the networks of trusted vendors were easily penetrated
“They’ve been intruding into our networks and are positioning themselves for a limited or widespread attack,” said Michael Carpenter, former deputy assistant secretary of defense, who now is a senior director at the Penn Biden Center at the University of Pennsylvania. “They are waging a covert war on the West.”
"Once inside the vendor networks, they pivoted to their real focus: the utilities. It was a relatively easy process, in many cases, for them to steal credentials from vendors and gain direct access to utility networks.
Then they began stealing confidential information. For example, the hackers vacuumed up information showing how utility networks were configured, what equipment was in use and how it was controlled. They also familiarized themselves with how the facilities were supposed to work, because attackers 'have to learn how to take the normal and make it abnormal' to cause disruptions,' said Mr. Homer."
