Yesterday, the U.S. House Rules Committee passed HR 5 onto the House floor and allowed only 90 minutes of debate on this horrible bill. One consequence of the so-called "Equality Act" is a catastrophic, life-long impact on young girls and boys.   We cannot be encouraging young people to take hormones in a fleeting moment of confusion. This can permanently destroy their ability to have their own children. It took the Democrat-led House Rules Committee less than 24 hours to decide that they wanted to push forward the most radical anti-religious attack on our nation I have ever seen. But I am not the only one shocked by this.

During testimony, Rep. Doug Collins (R-GA) said, "Never before in American history have we seen a party try so dramatically to rewrite federal civil rights laws to include an undefined, self-referential, ideologically-driven term 'gender identity' into the US code."

We must rise up and fight to stop this bill right now. Will you join with me with a quick donation of 25, 50, or 100 dollars to help stop HR 5?

It is deeply concerning that this law will force adults to bow their better judgement to the will of a child, especially when that child is denying a reality as obvious as their own gender. But it gets even more shocking.

During the testimony yesterday, Rep. Debbie Lesko (R-AZ) pointed out that "HR 5 will require doctors to provide sex-change surgeries and hormones to adolescents without parental consent, and without a medical diagnosis. This could permanently make girls sterile."

Just imagine finding out one day that your teen had gone through this procedure and you never even knew it happened!

This bill demands too high of a price from minors who don't have the legal ability to even sign a contract. Yet, HR 5 gives them the power to destroy any hope for a future family and the happiness that could bring them. this is a high price to pay to relieve a temporary confusion.

Gender is never "assigned at birth." It is a gift from an all-powerful and loving God. Our gender is the specific way that God choose for us to reflect his own image. Yet, doctors would no longer be allowed to help children see this beautiful reality. It would deny them the opportunity to gain a healthy perspective of their gender. Instead, HR 5 will allow children to demand that others mutilate their young bodies and perhaps destroy their chance of ever seeing their own children laugh and play.

This bill must be stopped! At Liberty Counsel Action, all of us are passionate about doing exactly that. We were the first to raise the alarm and, Lord willing, we will put the last nail in the coffin of this horrible bill. We are doing a lot behind the scenes on Capitol Hill to stop this bill in the U.S. Senate.
