Constitutional Carry just passed out of the South Dakota House of Representatives!

Thanks to your hard work, this solid pro-gun legislation will now move to the South Dakota Senate.

Now we must ensure that the Senate passes HB 1072 by flooding the Capitol with calls TODAY.

Please call your Senator at (605) 773-3821.

Respectfully urge your Senator to vote for Constitutional Carry. If you don’t know who your Senator is, you can find out here.

Then call anti-gun Governor Dennis Daugaard’s Office at (605) 773-5999.

Please demand that he reverse course now and sign House Bill 1072, the Constitutional Carry bill, into law when it comes to his desk.

Constitutional Carry, if passed, would allow law-abiding citizens to carry a firearm openly or concealed without a government permission slip. That’s the way it is done in eleven other states.

This bill would ensure that no one is treated like a criminal simply for exercising their right to self-defense.

It says the Second Amendment is all you need, and it has broad support from thousands of South Dakotans.

House Bill 1072 passed the House by a strong majority because of the hard work of activists like you who made calls and sent emails and petitions.

Constitutional Carry doesn’t become law without your efforts. And I thank you for all you have done.

But now we need to focus our efforts on the Senate and the Governor, to ensure passage of HB 1072.

Governor Dennis Daugaard has repeated voiced his opposition to this bill saying that the current permitting process is “effective, appropriate and minimal.”

He plans to veto this legislation and, if we don’t act now, may do just that.

Please call the Senate at (605) 773-3821. Respectfully urge your Senator to vote for Constitutional Carry.

If you don’t know who your Senator is, you can find out here.

Then call anti-gun Governor Daugaard’s Office at (605) 773-5999.

Please demand that he reverse course now and sign House Bill 1072, the Constitutional Carry bill, into law when it comes to his desk.

Please consider chipping in $30 or $15 to help with this fight.

Tell the South Dakota Senate and Governor Daugaard that our rights are not up for debate. Let’s make Constitutional Carry in South Dakota a reality!

Please act now!

For Freedom,

Ray Lautenschlager

Executive Director

South Dakota Gun Owners
