It has become apparent that making an area a gun free zone is a quick way to make an area a target. Virtually every mass shooting in recent history, barring a few exceptions, has taken place in a gun free zone. These gun free zones are soft targets, areas where those who could potentially defend themselves are left defenseless.

Virtually all schools are gun free zones, these areas are a target for shooters due to the lack of resistance they experience while committing evil acts. This was the case of Santa Fe High School, many lost their lives and were helpless in this gun free zone.
