Donald Trump finally addressed the nation about the riots sweeping the country.

The President stood in the Rose Garden and spoke to a national TV audience.

Donald Trump made this one promise that was the final nail in Antifa’s coffin.

Americans are tired of Democrat governments allowing looting and lawlessness to dominate the streets of the nation’s biggest cities.

A weekend of rioting fueled by the left-wing group Antifa had Americans demanding their leaders take action to end the insurgency threatening to overthrow civil order in their communities.

In a speech to the nation President Trump promised law and order.

“I am mobilizing all federal and local resources, civilian and military, to protect the rights of law abiding Americans,” the President stated.

Under the Constitution the police power to patrol the streets rests in the hands of governors.

President Trump noted this reality when he explained to the public that earlier in the day he urged governors to call out the National Guard and meet the Antifa rioters with overwhelming force.

“Today I have strongly recommended to every governor to deploy the National Guard in sufficient numbers that we dominate the streets. Mayors and governors must establish an overwhelming presence until the violence is quelled,” the President added.

But just because the Constitution designates the governors as the first line of defense in protecting civil society does not mean the President is helpless.

Far from it.

In his remarks, President Trump promised that if Governors failed to take action to crush the Antifa campaign of looting and rioting then the President would be forced to step in and take action.

“If a city or state refuses to take the actions necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” said the president,” the President continued.

In fact, the 1807 Insurrection Act grants the President the power to deploy the military to put down civil unrest.

President George H.W. Bush invoked the Insurrection Act in 1992 to send troops to the streets of Los Angeles after rioters ravaged the city and overwhelmed the local police force following a jury acquitting the cops involved in the Rodney King beating.

To prove this was no idle threat the President revealed that he called in the National Guard to Washington, D.C. and augmented their presence with 250 troops called up from Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

“As we speak, I am dispatching thousands and thousands of heavily armed soldiers, military personnel and law enforcement officers to stop the rioting, looting, vandalism, assaults and the wanton destruction of property,” President Trump revealed.

This was the message the American people were waiting for.

Americans do not want to see anarchy and chaos on their streets,

Antifa and their violent revolutionary tactics threaten the ability of society to function.

Donald Trump gave his word to the American people that he would pull out all the stops – including deploying the military – to end this terrorist scourge.
