Melania Trump is all set to welcome the Prime Minister of Australia and his wife to the upcoming state dinner. Melania had some renovations done to the White House to prepare.

This is important due to the age of the building and the wear and tear done to it by a constant flow of visitors. Here are the renovations that Melania helped get through:

    1.) The Red Room

The Red Room might as well have been called the Pink Room due to the fading walls. The fading of the walls wasn’t caused by any vandal or people touching it, it was caused by too much exposure to sunlight. The room is now rightfully red after Melania has had the walls redone.

Melania proves to have more than just an eye for style, she has an eye on the price tag too. While renovating the Green Room curtains she had them flipped and the trim replaced to save money by avoiding having to buy all new curtains.

    3.) Restoring History

Melania Trump has worked tirelessly to get back several pieces of furniture for the White House that were sold in an auction in 1860. The collection of furniture is called the Bellangé collection and it was first brought to the White House in 1817 by then-President James Monroe. Since the mission was commenced under Jackie Kennedy a total of 10 pieces have been recovered.

Unfortunately, this may be the last time relics like this make it back to their home. Historians are saying that the other pieces of the collection are “lost to history.” https://trumptrainnews.com/articles/3-restoring-history

    4.) Diplomatic Reception Room

The Diplomatic Reception Room is often the first room in the White House foreign leaders get to see and it has been completely renovated. The carpet had deteriorated over the years but Melania had designed a new one with the state flower of each state being on the carpet.

    5.) Bowling Alley

Did you know that the White House has a bowling alley? Well if not you do now!

The bowling alley was installed while Richard Nixon was President and it has been refurbished by Melania Trump and her team of redesigners. Too bad most will never get to play a game here!

The White House also has a list of projects that are to be done in the future. This includes reupholstering the chairs and benches in the reception room. With so many people coming to the White House every year and a constant flow of foreign leaders this work needs to be done.
