There were "stone cold crimes" committed by Obama officials concerning the FBI's investigation into Hillary Clinton's private email server and much more, President Donald Trump said during an interview airing Friday, and he hopes that Attorney General William Barr will be fair with investigating them.

"When I won I made my opening speech with everyone chanting lock her up," Trump told Fox Business' Maria Bartiromo. "I said no, forget it let's get to the future."

However, he said, he was treated unfairly through special counsel Robert  Mueller, in an investigation that has been nothing but a "hoax, a witch hunt" but there are "so many crimes on the other side" between the deletion of 33,000 of Hillary Clinton's emails and lies told to Congress by former FBI Director James Comey and former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper.

"These are just absolute lies...nobody does anything," Trump added. "We have been treated very, very unfairly. All because (former Attorney General) Jeff Sessions didn't have a clue."

After Sessions recused himself, Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein appointed Robert Mueller, "a man who just left my office after I didn't give him the job at the FBI," who was the "best friend" of James Comey, as the special prosecutor.

"I have a deputy who appoints a man, to write a report on me to make a determination of my presidency?" Trump said. "People will not stand for it."

Trump said he does have a "lot of respect" for Barr as a "very, very smart, respected man," and he hopes he will be fair.

As reports swirl that Mueller's report could be imminent, Trump said there have been many breaking news stories that have been nonexistent.

"It should never happen to another president what happened to me," said Trump. "They came up with an excuse for losing an election, this should never happen to another president. Because most presidents wouldn't be able to take it."
