After Donald Trump signed executive orders instituting extreme vetting for refugees and other travelers from terrorist hot spots, the Democrats kicked the outrage machine into high gear.

They smeared the orders as a so-called “Muslim ban” and Democrats and protestors took to airports to agitate for mass migration and an open door immigration policy.

Trey Gowdy responded and he completely shut down the critics of Trump’s order.

Trump’s order was no Muslim ban.

Nearly 90% of the world’s Muslim population is unaffected because they live in the more than 40 majority-Muslim countries not identified as having either a failing government or a hostile regime incapable of providing vetting on foreign nationals seeking to travel into the U.S.

The cornerstone of Trump’s order was a 120-day pause on accepting refugees and a 90-day travel ban on seven nations with known ties to terrorism so the United States can implement vetting procedures to ensure terrorists don’t sneak into America.

The media has falsely reported on the orders and generated hysterical cable news segments meant to frighten establishment Republicans and drive a wedge between Trump and the congressional GOP.

But one member of Congress who did not fall for the media’s trap was South Carolina Congressman Trey Gowdy.

Gowdy tweeted out a statement in support of Trump’s extreme vetting.

And Trump has not abandoned those seeking refuge.

A readout of his call with the King Salman of Saudi Arabia showed Trump got the King to agree to support a “safe zone” in Syria and Yemen where refugees can find safety without having to migrate to Western nations.

Reuters reports:

“The president requested, and the King agreed, to support safe zones in Syria and Yemen, as well as supporting other ideas to help the many refugees who are displaced by the ongoing conflicts,” the statement said.

The Saudi Press Agency, in an initial readout of the call, made no specific mention of safe zones, but said the two leaders had affirmed the “depth and durability of the strategic relationship” between the two countries.

The agency later said “the custodian of the Two Holy Mosques had confirmed his support and backing for setting up safe zones in Syria”, but did not mention Yemen, where a Saudi alliance is fighting against the Iran-aligned Houthi group.

A senior Saudi source told Reuters the two leaders spoke for more than an hour by telephone and agreed to step up counter-terrorism and military cooperation and enhance economic cooperation.”

The outrage whipped up by the Democrats and their allies in the so-called “mainstream” media was based on lies and fake news.

And Trey Gowdy shut them down with his statement.b
