DEM RESPONSE TO POTUS TRUMP'S IMMIGRATION ADDRESS WILL BE NOTHING BUT BS -- HERE'S WHY
In response to POTUS Donald Trump’s nationwide address from the Oval Office Tuesday night, in which he may outline challenges along the U.S.-Mexico border that are creating a national emergency, leading Democrats have demanded — and received — equal time from TV networks to ‘respond.’
Specifically, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said in a letter, “Now that the television networks have decided to air the President’s address, which if his past statements are any indication will be full of malice and misinformation, Democrats must immediately be given equal airtime.”
The president is also expected to lay out the myriad of reasons why Congress should give him the $5.6 billion in border wall funding he has requested. Likely, he’ll also blame the current partial government shutdown on Democrats because not a single one of them is willing to vote to support that funding.
Pelosi and Schumer are trying to claim that this is all the president’s fault, that he alone could ‘end the shutdown.’
True, but only if he gives in to them, which means no border wall, no border security, and no hope of getting either one anytime soon.
But what the Democrats are going to try to sell the American people tonight is pure unadulterated BS. No matter what Chuck and Nancy say, it is their party gumming up the works and prolonging the current shutdown.
Once upon a time, when it wasn’t POTUS Trump in the White House, Pelosi, Schumer, Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, and a boatload of other Democrats were all for physical border barriers, having supported the Secure Fence Act of 2006.
As recently as 2009, Schumer was saying all of the things that POTUS Trump and Republicans have been saying about the need for better border security including a wall.
In 2009, Schumer praised his vote and talked of supporting border security. At the 6th Annual Immigration Law and Policy Conference at Georgetown University, he discussed the seven principles he said made up a piece of border security legislation he wanted to be passed that would include construction of hundreds of miles of fencing, making the border “far more secure” by creating a “significant barrier to illegal immigration.”
“The first of these seven principles is that illegal immigration is wrong, plain and simple,” Schumer said, going on to criticize the Left-wing verbiage his party now uses frequently.
“When we use phrases like ‘undocumented workers,’ we convey a message to the American people that their government is not serious about combating illegal immigration, which the American people overwhelmingly oppose,” he continued.
“People who enter the United States without our permission are illegal aliens, and illegal aliens should not be treated the same as people who entered the United States legally,” Schumer continued. “Any immigration solution must recognize that we must do as much as we can to gain operational control of our borders as soon as possible.”
He also bragged about how much border fencing had been added when he talked about the “progress” made through legislation he and other Democrats supported.
“This progress includes…construction of 630 miles of border fence that create a significant barrier to illegal immigration on our southern land border,” he said.

Tonight, when Pelosi and Schumer try to substitute phrases like “border wall” and “border fence” with “smart solutions” and “smart technologies,” you should know that the people who will be throwing the BS flag the earliest are going to be the men and women of the U.S. Border Patrol, ICE, and other immigration and border enforcement agencies
Because they know there is nothing better than a wall, or a fence, or barrier that is substantial.
“I’ve been a Border Patrol agent for 21 years,” Brandon Judd, head of the National Border Patrol Council, the agency’s union. “I can personally tell you, from the work that I have done on the southwest border, that physical barriers, that walls actually work.
“You hear a lot of talk from the expert that — you hear a lot of talk that there are experts that say that walls don’t work. I promise you that if you interview Border Patrol agents, they will tell you that walls work,” he added.
