There are always court cases going through the Supreme Court even in times of crisis. These cases have a major impact on the United States and the lives of Americans despite this never being the intent of the founders. Here are the 6 biggest court cases that the media isn’t going to tell you about:

There is currently a case for Abortion in the Supreme court. This is a big deal and these cases tend to attract a lot of attention. Louisiana brought out a law that will change the way you can get an abortion in the state. In 2016 a similar law was struck down in Texas but the makeup of the court has changed since then so things may change.

So-called “faithless electors” are up for debate in the court. These electors are the people who do not vote for the candidate the state voted for, this will have a serious impact on Presidential elections and the electoral college once it drops.

Workers' rights vs the 1st amendment, will be a major battle in the court and could change the interpretation of the amendment. The case centers around a pair of school teachers fired by a catholic school and the suit they filed against the school.

Trump’s finance records are in the court as well. The case centers around the separation of powers as both New York State and Congress are trying to tap into the records. The Trump team is arguing that the records should remain sealed, they are taking the same defense that both Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon used on the matter to do so.

The LGBT community is fighting for more workplace rights in the foreseeable future and this case will determine if they win or not. The case will revolve around the wording of the Title 7 civil rights act. This would determine the legal definition of the term “Sex” used in these documents.

Deportation protections are up for debate in the Courts as well. Considering immigration is a hot issue at the moment this case will likely get more coverage as it comes closer. The case will follow the DACA program.
