There were a variety of breaking news reports that originated from cloakanddagger.de throughout the weekend since Patrick Fitzgerald handed down his indictments at 12:45 PM on Friday, October 28, 2005.

Federal whistle blower Tom Heneghan gave two separate audio updates on both Friday and Saturday evenings and covered a lot of new developments since the announcement of the five "Scooter" Libby indictments and what further charges may forthcoming, perhaps during this week.

On Friday night, host Lenny Bloom opened the show by congratulating both Heneghan and Sherman Skolnick for their vindication on reporting on the indictments first and foremost, despite all the criticism they took.

Heneghan then summarized what went on behind the scenes during the day's indictments announcement from Fitzgerald.

"There may be as many as 23 sealed indictments because of the national security end of the investigation. Now some people are going to say, 'well, you guys predicted 20 indictments or 10 indictments.' Ladies and gentlemen, we stand by that prediction. Scooter Libby is a bigger player than Karl Rove can ever be. Because Libby, of course, is the attorney for Mark Rich. And Mark Rich is the well known con man and international swindler and he has basically been the financial backers for both the Bush and Clinton crime syndicates," Heneghan figured.

And author Webster Tarpley, in yet another cloakanddagger.de audio report on Friday, echoed Heneghan's sentiments regarding the indictment of Libby. "For some people it maybe is not clear that if you had to pick between Libby indicted and Rove indicted, it is much better to have Libby indicted because he is incomparably a more powerful figure," stated Tarpley.

"If you look at Libby, first of all, he was special assistant to the President, he was really Bush's assistant before he was anything else. He was also Chief of Staff to Cheney and Cheney's National Security Advisor so he had three important hats in the White House. If you add up the number of hats he's got, he's probably more important than anyone in that White House. Libby is probably more responsible than anybody in starting the Iraq War," Tarpley added.

Heneghan delved into a question that was posed to Fitzgerald during his news conference at 2 PM EDT on Friday afternoon that he would not address. Michael Isikoff of Newsweek Magazine asked Fitzgerald who is the real source inside the National Security apparatus? Although, Fitzgerald would not reveal the name of that person, Heneghan did.

"His name is Stephen Hadley, NSC/NSA. Stephen Hadley is very important player because he received the information about Valerie Plame from (former CIA Director) George Tenant," disclosed Heneghan.

Accordingly, Hadley, is the source for much of the information that led to the indictment of Libby because Libby had maintained he received the news of Valerie Plame from the media, and then lied about it. Hadley, himself, had expected to be indicted, as well and was quoted in the New York Times as saying so earlier in the week. However, Heneghan detailed that Hadley has received transactional immunity, which means that his indictment can be sealed for further adjudication within the grand jury or possibly, within a new grand jury.

"Is there a tug of war politically with this? Of course there is. Is this thing over with, with Scooter Libby? Far from it," declared Heneghan confidently.

"I can report tonight that the transactional immunity that was given to George Tenant and Stephen Hadley aim at one target, and that target they are handing over to the new grand jury being impaneled by Fitizgerald is...Condoleeza Rice," stated Heneghan.

From Saturday, October 29, 2005, Heneghan and Skolnick gave further updated news as events were breaking fast and furious.

Heneghan said that he expects Bush White House Advisor Karl Rove to be indicted any day now, perhaps in the early part of this week.

"Mr. Rove is sitting right there on the verge of being indicted, sources close to the investigation tell us that Mr. Rove is plea bargaining and trying to work out a deal. What he's been doing has been using this 'box' attorney, (Robert) Luskin, who represented Clinton, Monica (Lewinsky), Hilary (Clinton). He's trying to present new emails or evidence that would suggest that Mr. Rove maybe telling the truth.

Fitzgerald is having a lot of trouble figuring out whether this stuff is, #1, authentic and, #2, why at this late stage did they find certain emails and certain correspondence. We predict next week, early, Mr. Rove will be indicted, not only for obstruction of justice but for trying to obstruct justice again, and it may actually include his attorney who has been representing him," said Heneghan.

Heneghan then provided some additional background information on the rapidly evolving developments that were occurring right up until the release of the indictments at 12:45 PM EDT by Fitzgerald. There was roughly a 45 minute delay in uploading the Libby indictment paperwork to the Department of Justice web site. This was due to a furious period of courtroom proceedings that were being filed during that time

"There are a total of 22 sealed indictments right now that are sitting in the Washington court building back there where Mr. Fitzgerald has impaneled a new grand jury. Now, on Friday, when the indictment of Libby was released...what was going on between 12 and 12:45 PM EDT? A total of 55 motions or protocols were sent to Judge Hogan sealed, dealing with various evidence aka the Libby indictment which referenced national security.

(These) 22 indictments that deal with the violation of the Espionage Act were presented to Fitzgerald, he signed off on them but because of the national security implications of the indictments and because this is ongoing investigation, those indictments are sealed. Those indictments include Paul Wolfowitz and Richard Perle, part of the Iraq Group , the team that was involved in taking the U.S. to war with Iraq based on a lie," summarized Heneghan.

What may be most noteworthy was the contention by Skolnick that Fitzgerald by law could NOT make any more announcements public for not only national security reasons but by an explicit LAW forbidding him. "I think the listeners have to understand where there is only one publicized indictment, those that called our program liars, did not know that there is a law against the prosecutor announcing that he has suppressed (or sealed) national security indictments, he (Fitzgerald) was NOT ALLOWED to say that," Skolnick added.

Heneghan disclosed that former CIA Director George Tenant's transactional immunity was contingent upon him returning the $38 million bribe he received for taking the fall and resigning as news of the Plame leak hit the mainstream press last year.

Other individuals of the Iraq Group that have been indicted include Karen Hughes, a Senior Advisor to the Vice-President as well as Mary Matlin, another Senior Advisor to Cheney. Deputy Director of Communications James Wilkinson, also an aide to Colin Powell however, will not be indicted because he has agreed to co-ooperate with the grand juries.

Skolnick questioned Heneghan on what he thought might happen with the 22 or 23 sealed indictments and reminded everyone that Fitzgerald has the charter of power to prosecute those who even obstruct the grand jury investigations.

"I think the sealed indictments are going to remain sealed at a point to which Fitzgerald's investigation proceeds closer to fulfilling the charter for which he has been assigned to investigate, which is the actual outing of Valerie Plame.

I think what we are going to see is a drib drab, a wave of releases. I think the less serious charges against individuals will be brought out first, and then as we move down in time and further into the inquiry, I think you will see the big time indictments brought out," speculated Heneghan.

"One of the reasons they wanted them sealed, over and above this national security question, was to soften the blow to the American people so that they don't go completely berserk when they realize that the occupant of the White House, the fictitious President and the fictitious Vice-President are actually under indictment but its sealed for the moment. In other words, they are worried that the American people will create an insurrection realizing their government is fictitious," said Skolnick.

Heneghan also said that Bush has become so stressed with the pressure of the Fitzgerald investigation that it is reported that he has been heard around the White House exclaiming, "why cant I get away with all of this, Clinton did!"

"Well I have got news for Clinton and his wife, they ain't gonna get away with it either," warned Heneghan. "Because the whole Mark Rich pardon has been opened up again by the Fitzgerald grand jury."

Heneghan concluded Saturday's briefings with these words, "Bush, are you listening, you got problems!"

It should be noted that the cloakanddagger site, which has been under constant attack during all of last week, will be undergoing a server upgrade over the next few days. Therefore, breaking news updates will be limited for that time.
