The Definition of Insanity
sults. The Ten Commandments are the foundation of laws for the western world. Because people and governments cannot abide 10 simple rules, the English established the Magna Carta in 1215 to further define the rights and
responsibilities of citizens and the limits of government authority. It was not long before the high born of British society had blown passed the limitations of the Magna Carta compelling oppressed people to strike out for the New World. They eventually redefined the roles of citizens and the limitations of government upon ratification of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights in 1791. Since its adoption, millions of pages of laws, statutes, ordinances, rules and regulations have been passed on top of the Constitution. This law-passing insanity has been ongoing for thousands of years. Why? Because laws don’t work. That makes the people who insist upon passing them, by Einstein’s definition, quite obviously insane.
