Trump Considers Permanently Dismantling the 9th Circuit Federal Courts (Video)
No political system is perfect, and America is no exception. An independent judiciary is absolutely important to the running of our democracy, yet what happens if some of the judiciary are unquestionably biased? Case in point is the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, chock full of liberal judges. And President Trump wants to do something about it.
In the following video, Right Wing News looks at the makeup and power of the 9th Circuit, in which 18 out of 25 judges were appointed by Democrat presidents. Anytime left wingers want a favorable decision from a federal court, the 9th Circuit is at the top of their list. And with jurisdiction over nine West Coast states and two US territories, their reach is far indeed. What’s more, 80% of the decisions by the 9th Circuit have been overturned by the Supreme Court. That’s a shameful record. Is it time to do something about the 9th Circuit?

The U.S. 9th Circuit Court of Appeals has a history of letting left-wing political beliefs influence its decisions, but President Donald Trump just issued an announcement that has undoubtedly ruffled their liberal feathers.
Trump explained on Wednesday that he has “absolutely” considered proposals to split up the out-of-control 9th Circuit, according to the Washington Examiner.
6);">by “Absolutely, I have,” Trump said. “There are many people that want to break up the 9th Circuit. It’s outrageous.”
The president pointed to the fact that any time an activist or group wants a liberal decision handed down by a federal court, they “immediately run to the 9th Circuit.”
“Because they know that’s like, semi-automatic,” Trump said.
The circuit’s large geographic reach has played a key role in allowing liberals access to left-wing judges, as it hears appeals from courts in nine West Coast states and two U.S. territories.
Furthermore, of the circuit’s 25 active judges, 18 were appointed by Democrat presidents.
But the president hasn’t been the first Republican to suggest splitting up the biased court, as GOP lawmakers have repeatedly introduced legislation that would carve away several states under the 9th Circuit’s jurisdiction and create a new court designed to lighten its caseload.

He also pointed out the court’s high rate of reversal by the U.S. Supreme Court, which a 2010 study by the American Bar Association found was eight out of 10 cases. helastgreapan>
“It’s got close to an 80 percent reversal period,” Trump said. “(W)hat’s going on in the 9th Circuit is a shame.”
Trump’s remarks came after a federal judge in California blocked the Justice Department from withholding federal funds from sanctuary cities — a ruling that, if appealed by the Trump administration, would go next to the 9th Circuit.
If the president is serious about splitting up the circuit, the decision would need to go through Congress, where Republicans would need 60 votes in the Senate to has undoumeasure.
But after all this time, and with the district’s shameful record on Supreme Court appeals, it just might be worth a shot.
