AG Barr is going to be investigating several of those involved in the Russia collusion narrative and the Mueller investigation. He stated in an exclusive interview with Fox News that the American people must know “exactly what happened” during the 2016 election. Here is who and what AG Barr is investigating:

1.) What Happened

The first step Barr laidout in the interview is that they need to find out exactly what happened and what was done during the counterintelligence investigation into the Trump campaign. Democrats are already coming out to fight back against this move and stating that Barr is acting not as Attorney General but as Trump’s personal lawyer. Barr rebutted these complaints by explaining that not a lot is known about this part of the timeline in the investigation.

2.) The Obama Administration activities

The big spot Barr wants to look into is the timebetween election day and the inauguration. He has pointed out that this time period in the investigation was extremely strange. This time period includes the leaking of information during a meeting where Comey briefed Trump on part of the investigation. The officials involved there will be under a microscope.

It is known that the FBI planted informants in the Trump Campaign and Durham, Barr’s new appointee will be looking into them and other FBI behavior. Trump stated in a tweetthat those involved in this could be charged and given long jail sentences.

4.) The Big Three

The biggest names that are under threatof investigation for activities surrounding the 2016 election cycle are James Comey, James Clapper, and John Brennan. All three would have known about such a high profile FISA warrant, their departments were involved with unsavory activities during 2016, they were referenced in a memo about the Trump Tower meeting where Comey told Trump about only the salacious claims in the Russia dossier. This does not mean any of them actually did anything directly or will face any charges, this only means they will be looked at by Barr thoroughly.
