Governors in Arizona, Texas bypass corrupt Biden regime and request law enforcement help from other states to combat illegal immigration, drug trafficking

The deeper we get into the Marxist post-constitutional period, the closer America comes to breaking up — and frankly, at this point in our history, that might be the best thing for everyone concerned so we don’t end up like one giant Syria.

The latest sign comes amid the worsening illegal migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border. The Biden regime has made it crystal clear the White House isn’t interested in fixing the problem, and why would it — Joe Biden created the problem his first day in office as he signed a dozen executive orders undoing nearly all of President Donald Trump’s immigration enforcement policies as well as ending construction of the very effective border wall.

Fed up with waiting on the regime to do its job and protect and defend American borders, the sovereign states of Arizona and Texas are taking matters into their own hands. Gov. Doug Ducey of Arizona and Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas, both Republicans, have sent letters to governors of other states asking them to send any law enforcement personnel they can spare to stop the drug and human smuggling that affecting their states as well.

The Epoch Times reports:

The governors of Arizona and Texas said that other states need to deploy available police or law enforcement to the U.S.-Mexico border to assist Border Patrol agents as they deal with a surge in encounters.

Due to the surge of illegal migration, Govs. Greg Abbott and Doug Ducey wrote in a letter Thursday to other governors that “additional manpower is needed from any state that can spare it.”

“With your help, we can apprehend more of these perpetrators of state and federal crimes, before they can cause problems in your state,” wrote the governors.

It should be noted that the governors didn’t ask for National Guard troops; they are military and as such prevented by statute from performing law enforcement duties (posse comitatus and all of that). That could change, though, if the border state invasions don’t stop.

“Data released this week from Customs and Border Protection show agents apprehended some 180,000 individuals who illegally entered the United States in May, which is the highest figure recorded in about two years,” The Epoch Times reported, adding: “More than 112,000 of those illegal immigrants were expelled under the Title 42 health provision, which was authorized via an emergency declaration last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Many of these [illegal immigrants] crossing involve state-law crimes, such as criminal trespassing or smuggling of persons. Most of them entail federal-law crimes, too, including illegal entry and illegal reentry,” wrote the GOP governors.

All said, this isn’t just some wild shot in the dark, so to speak. The governors cited a 1996 opinion from the Department of Justice that says “state and local police may constitutionally detain or arrest aliens for violating the criminal provisions of the Immigration and Nationality Act,” which they interpret as giving them authority to police the border and protect their sovereign territory, since Biden and his hapless VP, Kamala Harris, the latter of whom was put in charge of handling the border crisis, won’t step up (which is intentional, of course).

In addition, the governors noted in their letter, law offices who are sent to their respective borders are also expected to help detain drug smugglers and cartels from transporting their deadly contraband into the U.S., adding that the same cartels also do all of the human trafficking.

“The convicted criminals they smuggle into the homeland will bring recidivism with them to far too many of your communities,” the governors wrote, making the other states aware everyone is in this together.

This isn’t out-and-out secession, of course, but it’s another step in that direction. Maybe it’s time.
