Trey Gowdy struck fear in the heart of Barack Obama’s Deep State.

Gowdy helped lead the investigations that uncovered the FBI’s criminal conduct in trying to take down Donald Trump.

And in his final act as a member of Congress, Gowdy revealed this secret that Barack Obama hoped would never become public.

As chairman of the House Oversight Committee, Gowdy led one of the three major investigations into Barack Obama’s Deep State.

And just like when Gowdy ran the Benghazi Select Committee – where they unearthed the fact that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton transmitted classified information on an unsecured private server – Gowdy delivered results.

The GOP’s investigation revealed that the FBI used the fake news Christopher Steele dossier as their central piece of evidence to obtain a FISA warrant to spy on former Trump campaign aide Carter Page.

FBI agents also misled the FISA judge by failing to disclose the fact that Hillary Clinton’s campaign paid for the dossier.

But the FBI’s underhanded schemes to spy on Trump were not the only scandals that Gowdy and his colleagues brought to light.

In their final letter, Gowdy and House Judiciary Chairman Bob Goodlatte summarized their work.

A document of the House Judiciary Committee’s website pointed out that the fix was in on the FBI’s investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server.

“Former Director Comey wrote a statement exonerating Secretary Clinton months before his public announcement doing so.  He did this before the FBI had interviewed nearly two dozen witnesses, including Clinton herself.  Additionally, the FBI was looking for evidence of ‘willful intent’ in Secretary Clinton’s email activities, even though the relevant federal law doesn’t require it,” the statement read.

Obama himself played a role in letting Clinton off the hook.

Many Americans believe he obstructed justice when he cleared Clinton during a TV interview before the FBI had even completed their investigation.

“I don’t think it posed a national security problem,” Obama declared during a ‘60 Minutes’ interview. “This is not a situation in which America’s national security was endangered.”

Gowdy and other Republicans also questioned the FBI’s double standard in how they treated Trump and his circle versus Hillary Clinton and her cronies.

Clinton allies were given immunity and questioned with their lawyers present.

When the FBI went to interview then-National Security Advisor Michael Flynn, they purposefully did not tell him he could have his lawyer present in order to make it seem like an informal chat among national security colleagues.

Deputy FBI Director Andrew McCabe hoped Flynn would let his guard down so the FBI agents could spring their perjury trap.

And that is exactly how it played out.

Finally, Gowdy and Goodlatte ripped the incoming Democrat majority for making it clear they intended to bury any investigations into the FBI’s numerous abuses of power.

“It’s truly unfortunate that Democrats do not see that this is an American issue, not a partisan issue. The actions of the DOJ and FBI in 2016 and 2017 have tarnished the reputations of our nation’s top law enforcement agencies and have undermined Americans’ confidence in their justice system. Equality under the law is a core American value. Our laws should be administered and enforced with impartiality,” their statement read.
