Letter to President George W. Bush on the Gaza Crisis
January 3, 2008 Dear George W. Bush, Congressman Barney Frank said recently that Barack Obama's declaration that "there is only one president at a time" over-estimated the number. He was referring to the economic crisis. But where are you on the Gaza crisis where the civilian population of Gaza, its civil servants and public facilities are being massacred and destroyed respectively by U.S built F-16s and U.. » read more

UQ Wire: Investment Espionage And The White House
----- Original Message ----- From: Dick Eastman To: Sent: Monday, December 29, 2008 2:53 AM Subject: [frameup] Tom Flocco: Investment Espionage And The White House (2002) Hi Dick I was looking for links between B. Krongard and Madoff, and came across this very informative article from 2002, detailing the corporate espionage that went on. I found it very interesting, you might, too. These facts seem to fall down the memory hole, at least as far as our justice dept is concerned. Always, JoAnn.. » read more
Seasonal Forgiveness Has a Limit. Bush and His Cronies Must Face a Reckoning.
Wednesday 24 December 2008 Heinous crimes are now synonymous with this US administration. If it isn't held to account, what does that say about us? 'Tis the night before Christmas and the season of goodwill. The mood is forgiving. Our faces warm with mulled wine, our tummies full, we're meant to slump in the armchair, look back on the year just gone and count our blessings - woozily agreeing to put our troubles behind us. George Bush and Tony Blair will soon be out of office, should they be forgiven? (Photo: AP) As in families, so in the realm of public and international affairs.. » read more
Bush a Catalyst in America's Declining Influence
Thursday 25 December 2008 The president oversaw a period of eroding economic and political power, in which the rise of China, India and others was a major factor, but assisted by an aversion to him and his policies. President George W. Bush. (Photo: AFP / Getty Images) Washington, DC - As President Bush's term comes to a close, the United States has the world's largest economy and its most powerful military. Yet its global influence is in decline.. » read more
Bush Issues 19 More Pardons
Dec. 25, 2008 WASHINGTON (Dec. 23) - The last words Charles Winters spoke to his son nearly 25 years ago — "Keep the faith" — guided the Miami businessman as he sought a rare presidential pardon for his late father's crime: aiding Israel in 1948 as it fought to survive. Charles Winters, a Protestant from Boston, was convicted in 1949 for violating the Neutrality Act when he conspired to export aircraft to a foreign country. He was fined $5,000 and sentenced to 18 months in prison.. » read more
The World According to Cheney
Dec. 23, 2008 Vice President Dick Cheney has a parting message for Americans: They should quit whining about all the things he and President Bush did to undermine the rule of law, erode the balance of powers between the White House and Congress, abuse prisoners and spy illegally on Americans. After all, he said, Franklin Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln did worse than that. So Mr. Cheney and Mr.. » read more
Saudi offers $10m for Iraqi reporter’s ‘farewell gift’ to President Bush
Dec. 16, 2008 Cheers for that Iraqi reporter, expressing his disgust for what the Bush-Cheney Junta has done to his country. And 3 more cheers for Zaida showing Americans how to truly express yourself, teaching apathetic and ignorant Americans what "democracy" really means. I truly admire Zaida's restraint in not tossing those shoes earlier, when Bush was spouting off numerous lies about how the US has "helped" Iraq. Yes, we've "helped" Iraq.. » read more
Twas the Midnight Before Regulations
Dec. 16, 2008 The Bush administration isn't about to let democracy or the will of the people stop them from further ruining this country before they leave office. Knowing he can't get his long list of favors to his Republican cronies through Congress, Bush is doing a last minute end-run, jamming as many rules through the executive branch as he can during his waning days in power. These so-called "midnight regulations" will allow factories to pollute more, further restrict women's access to abortion services, cut off aid to needy families in the middle of a recession, and much more -- all without Congress' oversight or approval. It's wrong, it's antidemocratic, but, sadly, it's legal.. » read more
Bush Gets the Boot in Iraq (video)
Posted Dec. 17, 2008 Translation Here's what the man said as he threw his shoes at Bush: "This is a farewell kiss for you, you dog. This is from the widows, the orphans, and those killed in Iraq." Well put. Can we make this man an honorary American citizen? After all, Bush created a lot of widows and orphans in America too.. » read more
