July 25, 2016

25 July fire has broken out in the Western Turkish city of Izmir at the NATO's military base. The fire is burning more strongly every minute - some dozens of hectares are on fire.

The fire broke out in the forest and then spread to the territory of the military site.

However, as local media report, it has no relation to the military. They try to put fire out from helicopters, which discharge tons of water. The police doesn't exclude that it was an arson directed against the base of the North Atlantic Alliance.

As the RT reported, one of the buildings not related to the military site, got damaged. The air base in Izmir is situated in 320km to the south-west of Istanbul. The CNN Turk reported that it could be subversion against the US given the fact that the US has been accused of the recent attempt to carry out a coup d'etat in the country.

The NATO representatives have not commented on the situation yet.
