There are 8 states that could shift the entire election this year and many of these are states that traditionally vote blue in presidential elections, but some experts are under the impression that this may not be the case this year. Some are predicting that Trump could take these states and guarantee another 4 years as President. Here are the 8 states that could swing for Trump in the 2020 election:

1.) Florida

Florida has always been a swing state in the traditional sense but many were convinced that the state was solid blue

2.) Minnesota

Minnesota has voted blue in every election since 1976, This pattern is thought to be unbreakable but Trump is a different beast and may change the voting pattern of the state for the foreseeable future. Minnesota has been a solid blue-collar state for many years and unions have held it strong, hence the strong tendency to vote towards blue, but the unions are beginning to side with Republicans, and other blue-collar states are leaning Trump.

3.) Georgia

Georgia was once a big blue state and then it shifted red, seemingly for good, in 1996. The Democrats have been pushing hard to get the state back for many years but it’s safe to bet that it will remain red in 2020.

4.) Pennsylvania

Since 1992 Pennsylvania has been a solidly blue state but Trump rocked the political world by taking the state in 2016. The former blue stronghold is dominated by blue-collar workers and unions, Trump is winning these groups over and that is becoming more apparent.

5.) North Carolina

The Democrats were able to win North Carolina in 2008 but lost the state in 2012 and 2016, they still think that they can win it back and this is evident in their efforts in the state. Many are suggesting that Trump will keep this state in 2020 but no one knows for sure.

6.) Michigan

Michigan was a solid blue state for a long time but Trump changed that in 2016, and many Michigan natives are under the impression that he is set to win it again in 2020. Democrat strategists are counting on 2016 being a fluke and Biden winning the state in 2020 as part of their road to the White House.

7.) Wisconsin

Republicans last won the state of Wisconsin in 1972 with the election of Richard Nixon, Not even the uber-popular Regan could win the state in his landslide reelection in 1984. It is likely still a safe blue state but it may not be for long as more and more blue-collar voters turn to the Republican party for answers.

8.) Arizona

Arizona has long been a Republican stronghold but the Democrats have pushed hard to take the state. There is no telling what could happen in 2020 but the state did almost swing blue in 2016. Nothing is certain in the coming election, that is the one thing that can be said for sure.
