Quakes Shake Pacific -- One Dead in Japan

Three earthquakes have shaken the Pacific this afternoon, reportedly leaving one person dead and at least 80 injured in Japan.
The first quake, which measured 7.2 on the Richter scale, hit just south of Vanuatu at 12:40pm New Zealand time.
Two minutes later, an earthquake measuring 6.7 was recorded in the Sea of Japan, to the north of Honshu.
One person has died and at least 80 are said to have been injured in coastal Japan, according to public service broadcaster NHK.
A tsunami warning has been issued for the Ishikawa region, with waves up to 50 centimetres predicted.
A third quake at 1:08pm New Zealand time measured 6.0 on the Richter scale in the same region south of Vanuatu.
There have been no reports yet of damage from either of the quakes near Vanuatu.
No tsunami warnings have been issued for New Zealand.
