So what would be bringing us this dust? Not what you think... Not Planet X. ...VENUS' Tail!!!!!!!! A 45 million km tail discovered in the 1970's by the Pioneer Venus Orbiter. It was re-affirmed in the late 90's in a big way (see article below). Apparently, when Venus/Earth/Sun are in alignment, the tail is pointed directly at the Earth. See pic at this link:

In 1950, Velikovsky wrote about the unusual aspects of Venus. Many of the things he said have turned out to be true. Others are still awaiting proof...and many even sound EXACTLY like all the things being attributed to the elusive, unseen Planet X, INCLUDING POLE SHIFT!

Here is the part of Velikovsky's theory we are most concerned with: VENUS HAS BEEN PROVEN TO HAVE A TAIL, just as Velikovsky said she did and that THAT tail dusted the Earth and caused all kinds of changes throughout history. "Velikovsky attributed many of the disasters recorded in ancient times to this strange interaction the Earth had with Venus. Material that fell from Venus's comet tail into Earth's atmosphere caused the plagues visited upon Egypt as recorded in the Bible. "Plague is throughout the land. Blood is everywhere," cried the Egyptian Ipuwer. "Men shrink from tasting, human beings thirst after water..." According to Velikovsky's thinking, a fine rusty ferruginous dust from the comet's tail filtered down on the globe turning everything red.

As Earth went deeper into the comet's tail the dust turned to small stones and a hail of gravel pelted the Earth: "...there was hail, and fire mingled in with hail, very grievous, such as there was none like it in all the land of Egypt since it became a nation," the Bible reads.

Velikovsky also credits the manna that nourished the nation of Israel during their forty-year wandering through the desert in Exodus to carbohydrates that fell to Earth from comet Venus's tail.

As Venus grew closer, the gravity of the planet caused the Earth to rock on its axis or stop and start its rotation. Earthquakes broke out and vital waves engulfed mountain ranges. Velikovsky speculates that this maybe when the legendary city of Atlantis sunk beneath the waves."

NOW article about Discovery of Venus Tail. "Planet's tail of the unexpected" on 31 May 97, New Scientist reporter, Jeff Hecht, wrote:

"One of our neighboring planets can still pack a few surprises, it seems. Using satellite data, an international team of researchers has found that Venus sports a giant, ion-packed tail that stretches almost far enough to tickle the Earth when the two planets are in line with the Sun.

"I didn't expect to find it," says team member Marcia Neugebauer of the Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, California. "It's a really strong signal, and there's no doubt it's real."

NASA's Pioneer Venus Orbiter first found the tail in the late 1970s. Around 70,000 kilometres from the planet, the spacecraft detected bursts of hot, energetic ions, or plasma. The tail exists because ions in Venus's upper atmosphere are bombarded by the solar wind, a stream of plasma that blows out from the Sun.

But now Europe's Solar and Heliospheric Observatory (SOHO), a project partly sponsored by NASA, has shown that the tail stretches some 45 million kilometres into space, more than 600 times as far as anyone realised. This satellite, which sits about 1·5 million kilometres away from the Earth, passed through the tail last July, when it was roughly in line with Venus and the Sun.

While we recognize that there may be other contributing factors to the melt of the Ice cap, we find the recent announcement of Global Warming by no less than the Pentagon to have, shall we say, interesting timing...

Perhaps, Venus Tail Dust is just 'Icing on the Polar Ice Cake'... so to speak...
