Breakup Of The North Pole

From Dirk Dunning

lar ice. And that is breaking up. Vast stretches of polar ice are pulverized and floating free in the Arctic ocean. Thousands of square miles of ice are pulverized and on the edge of breaking up into a billion ice bergs. An immense rent has formed in the ice north of Queen Victoria Island. An even larger tear reaches up from Siberia poking at the north pole itself. The entire north shore of Akaska is Ice free, as is all of the northern Siberian shore - all the way to the New Siberian Islands and beyond. The last of the ice blocking the Northwestr passage at the east end of Queen Elizabeth Island is breaking up. In short, the north pole is falling apart. And some claim global warming isn't real!? Within weeks, the refreeze should begin. Depending on how long it is before that happens, massive chnages may occur at the pole before the freeze. The polar ice may well break free from land on ALL sides!! This is one of the most astounding events in all of human history. And where is it on the news????

A Different Spin on Global Warming

Global warming debate...I'll make this a sweeping generalization: all the arguments claiming that "global warming is a hoax" are always piecemeal and never holistic. They take one little piece of the puzzle and attempt to deconstruct the "global warming is real" argument based on a small part of the whole.

This is an argument that tries to triumph by drawing conclusions about the whole based on one small aspect. In critical thinking it's what you'd call a "red herring" argument. This particular writer says absolutely nothing about the events in the southern hemisphere of the last two or three years which have been shocking. The ice shelves down in the Antarctic have been breaking up to the point where icebergs the size of states (i.e. the size of Rhode Island) are birthed. Worldwide there are icecaps and glaciers that are disappearing. This is not conjecture. It is scientifically verifiable and factual.

This guy's specific theory has absolutely no bearing on those events. He's only talking about a phenomena in the Northern Hemisphere and specific to arctic conditions , currents, etc. He doesn't sound like much of a scientist to me.The National Academy of Sciences has reached consensual agreement on the fact that global warming is occurring and that man and the industrial age have much to do with the phenomena. The debate is over "just HOW much" does man play a part in global warming. That's the only thing up for debate anymore. M.C.

This reply is from a man who worked as a weather expert in the Navy for 30 years. He had a unique position, and they needed him, so was able to stay on even after he was of mandatory retirement age. Always good to get another view don't you think?

The sea ice begins forming at 25 degrees F. The ocean current on the West coast of the us is from north to south below 60 degrees North Latitude. It is from south to north above 60 degrees latitude.

The Kauishu Current that flows northward along the East Coast of China and then swings to the East is a warm current like are Gulf Stream. This current, as it approaches Alaska then splits and a portion swings north (at 60 Degrees north and is warm) (relative) and the other branch continues to come down the West coast as a now cold current as it cooled moving further north, mixing with the arctic waters.

We now have to factor in the volcano's (13) that are active under the ocean in the Pacific Rim. This keeps the water warmer that usual. The water temp at approximately 7,000 feet is 107 degrees F. This is what is causing the ice cap to melt. Is this global warming? If it is, it is not caused by Man. A drop of 1/5 of a degree F. is all it takes for still water in the Arctic to go from open water to freezing at 25 degrees F.

With knowing the temperature thermocline of the water at the surface and how deep it goes, I cannot tell if this is serious or not. Everyone has an agenda, so find out what the people that are reporting and read between the lines.
