Geologists Predict An Earthquake Burst In Baikal And Mongol Territories
0-60 years. Since last major seismic burst was detected in 1957-1959, when territories of the Gobi-Altai mountain system showed breaks for about 250 km, and three earthquakes with 10-11 intensity shook Eastern Siberia.
Seismologists now warn about forthcoming earthquake burst. Seismic sensors have already detected an increase in seismic activity in the region – 7-8 thousand earth shocks per years compared to 3 thousand shocks in normal conditions.
