5-23-22 Home schooling: here’s what our masters say And you’d better pay attention by Jon RappoportA (To read about Jon's mega-collection, The Matrix Revealed, click here.) Daniel Greenfield, writing at AFront Page Magazine, offers this gem: “Elizabeth Bartholet, the director of Harvard Law's Child Advocacy Program, described the ‘homeschooling phenomenon’ as a ‘threat’ to society, claiming that conservative parents ‘homeschool because they want to isolate their children from ideas and values central to our democracy’, ‘promote racial segregation and female subservience’, and ‘question science’.” “Her paper called for a ‘presumptive ban on homeschooling, with the burden on parents to demonstrate justification for permission to homeschool.’ These views are not fringe.” AA Of course, this elite Harvard titan, Bartholet, knows which ideas and values are central to our democracy; and the place to drill them into children’s heads is public school.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netHomeschooling tripled during COVID, isn't going back down

4-15-22 Likely hundreds of thousands of students not returning to public schools Homeschooling surged when COVID-19 hit the United States. Many parents decided they had to do something for their children that would be better than having them, when schools were locked down, watch a laptop screen connected to a remotely lecturing union teacher. So the percentage of students in America being homeschooled, before the pandemic 3%, suddenly surged to 11%, with 4% being homeschool-only households and another 7% with at least one child homeschooled. But now that the pandemic is declining, those numbers aren't falling, according to a new online report from Steven Duvall, the director of research for the Homeschool Legal Defense Association. 6-15-21 We agree with the petitioners and hold [that] local health officers do not have the statutory power to close schools,’ the Wisconsin Supreme Court argued. MADISON, Wisconsin, June 15, 2021 (LifeSiteNews) — Private schools in Dane County, Wisconsin, retain their right to remain fully open, despite the ban on in-person education placed on them by the Public Health Officer of Madison and Dane County. The so-called emergency order, which closed all public and private schools for in-person learning due to COVID-19, was issued in August 2020 by Janel Heinrich — just in time before schools were scheduled to reopen. Three plaintiff groups — represented by the Thomas More Society, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty, and Veterans Liberty Law — took legal action at the Wisconsin Supreme Court and requested the justices to prevent Dane County from enforcing the order. The court then issued a temporary injunction, which allowed schools to remain open on September 1.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netFrance moves to ban homeschooling in 2021

19-2-20 France's president explicitly intends the move to stifle religious instruction of children. October 2, 2020 (LifeSiteNews) — French president Emmanuel Macron announced on Friday morning that he intends to outlaw homeschooling for all children except those who have a health condition that would justify staying away from school. He also intends to step up control on private independent schools that receive no public funds, in particular through inspections on the curricula taught there, by more severely implementing a recent law that requires such schools to teach a “common core” defined by a high authority for education. The new law would come into force in the school year 2021–2022 for all children aged between 3 and 16. It was already under Macron’s presidency that education became compulsory for tots of infant school age.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netWisconsin Supreme Court hands huge victory to schools to teach kids in classrooms

5-1-20 As most of America waits in lockdown for the Wuhan coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis to end, Harvard Magazine is keeping busy criticizing parents for teaching their children at home, and is actually calling for a full-scale ban on homeschooling. That’s right: The self-proclaimed champions of education on the left believe that children should not learn anything at all if they can’t learn it at public school because homeschooling comes with “risks,” according to Harvard Magazine‘s Erin O’Donnell. O’Donnell cites the opinion of Elizabeth Bartholet, a Wasserstein public interest professor of law and faculty at Harvard and director of the Law School’s Child Advocacy Program, who believes that homeschooling violates children’s right to a “meaningful education.” Bartholet further contends that children face “potential child abuse” if they are taught at home by their parents, and would be safer learning at public school. She also says that homeschooling may prevent children “from contributing positively to a democratic society.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netAmerica Endures First In World History “Let Stupid People Die” Pandemic

27 March 2020 Hello Folks, For those of you haven’t yet read Sister Ciara’smonthly letteryet, I strongly suggest you do—and in my letter to you today, I’m going to focus on these words she wrote: “the ability to see through a glass darkly to find the subtle nuances and currents rippling through history”—but before I can, and in order for you to really understand what’s going in your world, I’ve got to tell you about a place in America called the Groton School. And I’m not picking on the Groton School, rather I’m using it as an example of the hundreds of elite boarding schools throughout America, where unless you’re, at least, a multi-millionaire, your children and grandchildren will never pass through the gilded gates of. Now specifically, the Groton School is a private Episcopal college preparatory boarding school located in Groton, Massachusetts, United States, that enrolls about 380 boys and girls, from the eighth through twelfth grades—who are children ranging in ages from about 13 to 18—and I direct your attention to the curriculum they’re taught: Classics—Groton encourages the study of Latin and Greek because of particular benefits it offers in the development of language skills and the perspective it offers into our culture in a broad sense. Latin and Greek are the basis for several World Languages and can be useful aids in learning them. English—TheEnglish Department seeks to immerse students in the world of writing, the students’ own as well as that of great literature.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netBE AWARE: ATTEMPTED BILLS ON HOMESCHOOLING

The State of New York is about to take the unprecedented step of denying an education to 26,000 students because Governor Cuomo and a majority of our legislators chose to no longer tolerate the religious beliefs of those students’ families. The State has done very little to educate the schools or families on what they are supposed to do. This is obvious from the wide range of conflicting messages families are getting from the schools. The following FAQ is for parents about to deal with their children’s last days in a New York public school. Our answers to the question below are based on discussions with knowledgeable people who have studied the law, regulations, and related documents.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netSTATE MOVES TO TAKE OVER CHRISTIAN SCHOOL

4-14-19 It was early one morning in August 2013. Summer break was ending, and the Wunderlich children in Germany, ages 7-14, were preparing for their homeschool lessons. Without warning, more than 30 SWAT officers, dispatched by social workers seeking to separate the children from their Bible-teaching parents, surged onto their property. The officers brought a battering ram to take down the front door. Dirk Wunderlich, the father, saw the raid developing and quickly opened the door to try to lower the tension.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netTeacher suspended for inability to read, write

1-28-19 Leaders of religious schools in New York state, who long have operated under the same requirements as public schools, say they will not cooperate with strict new guidelines enforced by local school-district officials. But no one is fooled by the state Department of Education’s new guidelines on how “religious and independent schools” operate, said the government watchdog Judicial Watch. “The changes are aimed right at New York City’s freewheeling Orthodox Jewish seminaries, known as yeshivas,” Judicial Watch said. “More than 100,000 students attend yeshivas in New York City.” The standard of “substantial equivalency” in education has been around since the 19th century.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netPolice Seized My Clients’ Children Because They Homeschooled. 1-16-1`9 The Wunderlich family wanted to do what thousands of families in America do with no questions asked: educate their children at home. But homeschooling is not allowed in Germany, and the state has relentlessly pursued the Wunderlichs and even seized their children. One morning in August 2013, 33 police officers and seven social workers showed up at their front door, threatening to open it with a battering ram. The parents cried as their children were carried screaming out of their home. 6-5-18 Thanks to the incessant Left-wing counter-culture social engineering and increasing levels of violence and bullying, more American parents are pulling their kids out of failing government schools and teaching them at home. As reported by The Washington Times, the recent school shooting at Parkland, Fla., was the last straw for scores of parents. The paper noted that “the phones started ringing at the Texas Home School Coalition, and they haven’t stopped yet.” The Times added: The Lubbock-based organization has been swamped with inquiries for months from parents seeking safer options for their kids in the aftermath of this year’s deadly school massacres, first in Parkland and then in Santa Fe, Texas.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netAfter criminalizing the Bible and medical choice, California is now trying to outlaw home schooling

3-17-18 In light of recent school shootings, walk-outs to protest the handling of sexual harassment, and an upcoming lawsuit by a student who was drugged and gang-raped and then asked by officials to leave school until talk of the rape “blew over” – you might think that California’s government has enough on its hands, just trying to keep kids in our public schools safe. But you’d be wrong. Or, at least, you’d be mistaken to assume busy-body California Assembly legislators would see it that way. The recently introduced Assembly Bills 2756 and 2926 are cases in point. This first, AB 2756, requires fire marshals to perform in-home inspections of home-schoolers every year, implying that somehow home-educators are less fire-safe than other individuals.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netState to Force Homeschoolers to Submit to Warrantless Home Inspections, Trampling Rights

3-11-18 Maryland — Under the guise of preventing child abuse, lawmakers in Maryland have introduced a bill that will allow the state to intrude in the lives of innocent families, keeping tabs on them, and destroying their right to privacy. The bill, HB 1798 – County Boards of Education – Home Instruction Program – Observation of Instruction and Reporting of Abuse and Neglect, lays out some fairly ominous requirements that will persecute otherwise entirely innocent families for doing nothing other than teaching their children at home. According to the bill’s text, it will establish grounds for parents to essentially register with the state and be subject to some of the same constraints as the public education system. But that is only the beginning. This bill also lays out the framework for involuntary home inspections in which state agents will enter a family’s home multiple times a year—likely unannounced—and observe and inspect the homeschooling process.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netDad sent to prison for homeschooling his kids

The sentence was announced by a Cuban court for pastor Ramón Rigal and his wife, Adya, according to the Home School Legal Defense Association. In a report by HSLDA Director of Global Outreach Mike Donnelly, Rigas said authorities used his three-hour trial this week as a platform for denouncing alternatives to government-controlled education. “They would not let me speak in my defense,” Ramón told Donnelly. “I brought evidence that my children were learning – notebooks and materials – [but] they didn’t care.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netHomeschoolers face prison in Obama's island 'paradise'

In fact, some Americans cynically believe that rules are nearly impossible to comply with, and that they are written that way on purpose so as to justify the size, scope and power of the state. Published on Dec 3, 2014 In recent days, much of the national headlines has been filled with news out of Ferguson, Missouri. But over the next several months, you’ll start to hear more about a controversial case all the way across the state. Both stories are very different, but we’re starting to hear there could be some similarities. One happened in an urban neighborhood, one out in a rural farmland. But in both cases, police are accused of abusing their power.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netTeach your children to obey using Godly principles!

May 6, 2014 'Discriminatory practice reflects a narrow-minded and statist view of education' An Indiana-based company has decided not to hire any homeschool graduates, withdrawing a job offer from one candidate after discovering he was home educated, according to the Home School Legal Defense Association. That’s despite the fact that assessments and evaluations for homeschool students routinely run higher than for public-school students. HSLDA spokesman Michael Donnelly said NiSource, an energy-distribution company, informed HSLDA it would not hire homeschool graduates. The decision was based on the company’s interpretation of state law. Donnelly said he was told by NiSource legal counsel Adele O’Connor that the company “disagrees with the conclusions in your letter as to the legal requirements regarding a diploma,” established in Chapter 3313 of the Ohio Revised Code.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netEMS Worker Tells Mom 'We’re Agents of the State' During Home Inspection

March 13, 2014 Homeschool advocates warn of dangerous precedent from court case An administrative decision by the Department of Homeland Security means members of a German homeschool family whose grant of asylum in the U.S. later was withdrawn will not be returned to face the persecution homeschoolers face in Germany. But advocates for homeschooling are warning that the underlying legal precedent in the Romeike family’s case suggests that the government always knows best what education is appropriate for children and can require them to attend a school that violates their religious beliefs. The warning comes from Michael Farris, founder of the Home School Legal Defense Association, which represented the family.text/html1970-01-01T00:00:00+01:00http://www.fourwinds10.netStunning turn for persecuted homeschoolers

Dec. 21, 2013 "SB 248 turns fundamental American values upside down…This law replaces parents with unqualified social workers to make educational decisions for children." new bill proposed by Senator Capri Cafaro (D-Ohio) would require parents who have decided to homeschool their child to undergo an investigation by social services, who would then decide whether or not it would be permitted. The Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA) website is reporting that on December 3, 2014, Senate Bill 248 was introduced in Ohio. This bill is the latest attack against families from state legislatures who want to severely restrict choice to homeschool children.
